Jessica Stahl photo and quote re UWSCI initially was introduced to United Way by the CEO, Erin Birch, as a part of a program looking for ways to help and be involved with Sumner County. I was blown away by the information she shared on ALICE and all the ways that United Way serves those right here in Sumner County. Knowing all the support that they provide the truly awe-inspiring non-profits right here in our county makes everything and anything I can do to help United Way something I look forward to and am proud to stand behind. Whether helping serve on the Allocations Committee, helping with the Gala Committee, or even trying to share in the various drives that United Way provides every year, I know that I am helping those right here in my community that need help the most.

Through volunteering with United Way my perspective of those who need help has been broadened more than I ever would have known possible. I now am able to see that, even though I am beyond proud of this amazing community of Sumner County, there are so many that need help right here in this community. I have learned so much about so many organizations that I didn’t even know existed that do some amazing work and love knowing that I get to help them.

I would, and do, encourage anyone to consider participating in United Way in any way they can – whether by donating to the coat drive, or Stuff the Bus, or jumping in and volunteering with some of the events they host, helping on the Allocations Committee, or donating to United Way. Anything you do, you know that your time, efforts, and support are going straight to those in need right here in Sumner County. You are supporting those in our community to better their lives and in turn the quality of life in Sumner County…and that is something worth investing in.
