Support Moms & Babies in Sumner County
Every baby deserves a healthy start, and every mother deserves access to essential personal care items—but for many families in our community, these necessities are out of reach.
United Way of Sumner County’s Health Community Impact Area includes a focus on Maternal & Child Health, ensuring that moms and babies have the resources needed for a strong, healthy foundation. Access to diapers, wipes, and feminine care products is essential to that mission—but too many families are struggling to afford these basic necessities.
Diaper Need is a Growing Crisis
- 1 in 2 U.S. families (46.7%) struggle to afford diapers to keep their baby clean, dry, and healthy.
- The cost of diapers has risen, with families now spending $960 to $1,200 per year—a significant financial strain.
- 3 in 5 parents miss work or school because they can’t afford the diapers required for childcare.
Moms Shouldn’t Have to Choose Between Their Needs & Their Baby’s
- The average woman spends $120 to $180 per year on feminine hygiene products—over $5,000 in a lifetime.
- Many mothers report having to choose between buying diapers or personal care essentials due to financial hardship.
