United Way of Sumner County volunteers all have one thing in common: they all show up ready to work with cheerful hearts and smiles on their faces! Rebecca Wells’ sunny personality shines through no matter the task. She can be found just about anywhere United Way of Sumner County has a need. You might find her in our office stapling programs and folding brochures by the hundreds or helping audit internal files. You might see her on the golf course working the table at the putting contest during our Fall Classic Golf Scramble – even smiling through the unpredictable weather of the day - or she might be behind the checkout table at the United Way Gala in the Vineyard processing payments for auction winners.  You might see her in her car picking up or delivering all kinds of items donated to United Way of Sumner County: coats, diapers, school supplies, toys, canned goods or she might be helping set up one of our events and then helping break it all down.  She has been volunteering at the United Way of Sumner County for three years. When she’s not volunteering, she’s at work as a financial office assistant/substitute teacher. She also volunteers at Hendersonville First United Methodist Church with various service projects, including partnering with Sumner County Schools to provide food bins during school breaks. “ I love being able to serve the community and the UW at the same time!” Rebecca said. “ It’s a wonderful feeling to have a purpose that’s beyond myself. It brings a deeper sense of appreciation to those called to do His work.’’
