United Way volunteers help with a variety of tasks around the office. They organize office supplies, shred old documents, mail letters, prepare workplace campaign materials, and take inventory, which often means a lot of counting. They count a little of everything – pens, magnets, T-shirts, donor forms, etc… “I have always loved to count,” says Kitty Kulakowski, a United Way of Sumner County volunteer. Kulakowski has been volunteering with United Way since late spring of 2022. Kulakowski retired from the Gallatin News Examiner in 2007 after spending more than 30 years reporting and writing news and feature stories in Sumner County. After retiring from the newspaper, she continued writing a guest column for the publication and used her voice to support and advocate for many Sumner County organizations including Greater Gallatin, The Palace Theatre, Cragfont, and other historic landmarks. “I enjoy helping in the community,” Kulakowski says. At United Way of Sumner County, Kitty is someone we can count on. Thank you, Kitty!
