$864,000 impact to greater community

United Way of Sumner County is elated to announce that because of the generosity of our donors and supporters, there will an impact to the greater community of over $864,000 for the 2024-2025 grant year with over $582,000 going to our partner agencies! 

This money will benefit our 37 local health and human service agency/program partners who operate in the areas of Education, Financial Stability, Health, and Rebuilding Lives!  

  • Children Are People provides after school and summer camp programs in Southeast Gallatin:  $12,000
  • Community Child Care Services provides affordable child care in Hendersonville:  $24,505.28
  • Gallatin Day Care provides affordable child care in Gallatin with plans to open 2nd site offering child care for 2nd shift employees:  $73,366.56
  • Gallatin Shalom Zone - ESL Program provides ESL classes with complimentary child care during class:  $20,000
  • Gallatin Shalom Zone - Children & Youth Programs provides after school and summer camp programs in Northwest Gallatin:  $25,000
  • Habilitation and Training Services (HATS) Rainbow Intervention Program provides early intervention for children 0-4 years with developmental delays:  $7,000
  • Mental Health America - Erase the Stigma Youth Program provides mental health awareness and education to at-risk children/youth and their families:  $5,000
  • Sumner County 4-H provides leadership training for 4th-12th grade students:  $5,000
  • Amazing Grace Mission of Sumner County provides emergency assistance in Bethpage and Westmoreland:  $27,368.90
  • Gallatin CARES provides emergency assistance in Gallatin:  $27,000
  • Grace Place Ministry provides long-term shelter and transitional care and training to single mothers and their children:  $25,200
  • Habitat for Humanity of Sumner County - Down Payment Assistance Program provides assistance to enable low-wealth households to make the transition from renting to home ownership: $7,500
  • Henderson Samaritan Association provides emergency assistance in Hendersonville:  $5,500
  • Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle TN - Backpack Program provides supplemental food to students in need:  $5,000
  • St. Vincent de Paul Society provides emergency assistance primarily in Gallatin:  $27,000
  • Community Life Bridge provides transportation assistance for adult seniors:  $11,000
  • Community Resource Center - Hygiene Pantry Support Program distributes free hygiene and household essentials to school and community-based resource centers in Sumner County:  $5,000
  • Cumberland Crisis Pregnancy Center - Sexual Risk Avoidance Education Program provides education to 6th-12th grade students:  $8,000
  • Elevate50 Hendersonville (formerly Senior Citizens of Hendersonville) provides recreational activities and social engagement for adult seniors in Hendersonville: $11,000
  • Gallatin Senior Center provides recreational activities and social engagement for adult seniors in Gallatin:  $8,000
  • Habitat for Humanity of Sumner County - Critical Home Repairs Program provides assistance to senior adults for critical home repairs:  $8,000
  • Mental Health America of the Midsouth - Caregiver Support Program provides consultation, education, referrals, and support to caregivers of dementia patients:  $10,000
  • Mid-Cumberland Human Resource Agency - Meals-on-Wheels Program provides meals to homebound adult seniors:  $27,000
  • Mid-Cumberland Human Resource Agency - Ombudsman Program investigates complaints in long-term care facilities and advocates for residents' rights:  $5,000
  • Neighborhood Health at Salvus Center provides primary medical care and services to working uninsured residents:  $16,135
  • Nurses for Newborns provides care and support to medically fragile infants; caregivers with medical, mental health, or substance abuse concerns; and teenage parents:  $8,500
  • Portland Senior Citizens provides recreational activities and social engagement for adult seniors in Portland:  $10,000
  • Tennessee Poison Center provides a 24/7 medical hotline for poison emergency treatment advice and information:  $2,500
  • Westmoreland Senior Center provides recreational activities and social engagement for adult seniors in Gallatin:  $5,000
  • Ashley's Place (Sumner County Child Advocacy Center) provides counseling and assists in investigation of child abuse cases:  $21,500
  • Cumberland Crisis Pregnancy Center provides counseling, support, and education to women experiencing a crisis pregnancy:  $17,628.75
  • HomeSafe provides shelter, emergency assistance, and counseling to victims of domestic violence:  $7,628.75
  • Legal Aid Society of Middle TN and the Cumberlands provides legal advice, representation, and education in civil legal matters to low income individuals and families, targeted towards older individuals in social and economic need:  $5,000
  • Recovery Court of Sumner County provides a two-year, court supervised, evidence-based recovery program to non-violent offenders with addiction issues:  $10,732.36
  • STARS Student Assistance Program provides counseling to students in need and helps schools address substance misuse, violence and bullying:  $48,628.75
  • Sumner County CASA provides volunteers who advocate for the best interests of children who are involved in court proceedings primarily as a result of abuse and neglect:  $28,628.75
  • Unlimited Potential Community Development Corporation - Stay Warm Shelter Program provides shelter and services to the homeless:  $5,000
