The 2024 UWSC Fall Classic Golf Scramble presented by State Representative, Johnny Garrett was held at a new location at the Tennessee Grasslands Foxland Course on October 21, 2024. The event brought together 136 golfers from 34 teams participating in a day filled with fun, friendly competition, and a shared commitment to creating stronger, healthier, and more resilient communities. The final results came down to the wire, with incredibly close scores making for an exciting finish to determine the winners!
Winner in the Men's Division, 1st Place, Flight 1, was Team Watkins Outdoor Solutions with golfers, Chandler Watkins, Troy Watkins, Drew Fulcher, and Nash Denson coming in with a final score of 55! The 2nd Place Winner of, Flight 1, was Servpro Team 4 with golfers, Luis Garza, Jamie Ortiz, Stacey Gordon, and Benton Dalton who finished just behind 1st place with a score of 56!
The Men's Division, Flight 2 saw a tie, with two teams finishing with a total score of 60! To determine the winner, scores for the last 9 holes were considered. Because the scores on the last 9 holes were STILL tied, the tie-breaker was determined by the scores on the last 6 holes. Coming out on top in 1st Place was The Farmers Bank Team with golfers, Drew Jennings, Jerry Summers, Josh White, and John Robert Stewart with a score of 20 on the last 6 holes. In 2nd place was Team Volunteer State Bank with golfers Clayton Hannah, Eric Hester, Brent Ausbrooks, and Josh Bolton with a score of 21 on the last 6 holes!
In the Ladies Division, the 1st Place Winner, was Team No Drama Mamas with golfers, Jean Montgomery, Rhonda Manous, Julie Marr, and Kelly Coley finishing with a score of 64.
This year's Putting Contest also saw a 3-way tie between Greg Hollingsworth, Chad Rogers, and Joseph Smith with each sinking a hole-in-one! In the tie-breaking playoff, Joseph Smith claimed victory with a winning distance of 79 inches.
Finally, the Closest to the Pin Winner for the Men was Brandon Gandzevort and the Closest to the Pin Winner for the Women was Haydee Moore.
