The 2023 United We Feed Drive was held November 1 - 30, 2023. Sixteen businesses from Gallatin, Hendersonville, Portland, Westmoreland, and White House served as public drop-off locations for those who wanted to donate non-perishable food items to feed hungry Sumner County neighbors. They included Bank of Tennessee in Hendersonville, Gallatin Chamber of Commerce, Gallatin City Hall, Gallatin Fire Department, Hendersonville City Hall, Portland Chamber of Commerce, Publix in Hendersonville, Publix on Maharris Drive in Gallatin, 2 Regions Bank locations in Gallatin, 2 Regions Bank locations in Hendersonville, Sellars Family Heritage Funeral Home in Westmoreland, Sumner County YMCA, Truist in Hendersonville, and the White House Chamber of Commerce. Three additional businesses, Aladdin Temp-Rite, Orange Theory in Hendersonville, and Servpro Headquarters, also participated by conducting internal collection campaigns amongst their employees and/or customers.
Twenty volunteers helped to pick-up, sort, log, organize, and distribute more than 1,200 cans of food and other non-perishable food items valued at approximately $1,500. Eleven United Way Partner Agencies received the donations to help feed the clients they serve: Children Are People, Community Child Care, Cumberland Crisis Pregnancy Center, Gallatin CARES, Gallatin Day Care, Gallatin Shalom Zone, Grace Place Ministry, Hendersonville Senior Citizens, HomeSafe, Nurses for Newborns, and Unlimited Potential. In addition, the Sumner County Schools Family Resource Center and three Sumner County families who were impacted by the December 9 tornado were supplied with food, as well.
