This year's drive is complete. (Click here to see how it went!) Please join us next year to help keep kids warm!
Did you know that over 6,000 Sumner County kids live in poverty and another 15,000 live in homes that struggle to meet their basic needs? In fact, 48% of Sumner County kids live under the ALICE threshold. (Click here to learn more about ALICE.)
YOU can help these families to keep their kids warm this winter by donating to the United Way of Sumner County 2022 Winter Care Drive. We are collecting GENTLY USED KIDS' COATS for infant to high school-aged children. We are also collecting NEW SOCKS, NEW GLOVES, and NEW HATS for these age groups, as well.
See our tabs below for a list of drop-off locations and additional information about how you can help. Donations will be distributed to United Way partner agencies that serve these populations.
Donate items:
- Gently-used kids' coats for sizes newborn to high-school. (Tip: middle and high school students often prefer hoodies over coats.)
- NEW socks, NEW hats, and NEW gloves for kids ages newborn to high-school.
Donate money to help purchase coats, socks, hats, and gloves for kids in need:
Participate:
- Sign-up to serve as a public drop-off location for Winter Care Drive donations.
- Help promote the event at your location and encourage customers/clients to bring donations.
- We'll supply posters you can copy and use for a drop-box and/or to hang at your business, in windows, on bulletin boards, etc., so you can let the public know you are accepting donations on our behalf.
- Conduct an internal collection campaign at your company and encourage employees to participate.
- We'll supply posters you can copy and use for a drop-box and/or to hang at your business, in windows, on bulletin boards, in the breakroom, at the water cooler, on doors, etc., so you can remind employees you are collecting donations on our behalf.
